Owned by Alphabet Inc. Next year, Google plans to introduce the Google Play Games to Windows.

The tech giant announced the function at the 2021 Game Awards and pledged to expand its testing to more devices in the near future.

Google produced the Google Play Games software to enable Windows laptops, tablets, and PCs to run Google Play games.

Greg Hartrell, Google’s product director for games on Android and Google Play, stated:

“That players will soon be able to play Google Play games on a wider variety of devices and will be able to easily move between a phone, tablet, Chromebook, and a Windows PC.”

Google chose to be a lone ranger in this app production, developing the app independently of Microsoft, BlueStacks, or any other developer.

“Beginning in 2022, users will be able to play their favorite Google Play games across a broader range of devices, smoothly moving between phone, tablet, Chromebook, and, eventually, Windows PCs,” Hartrell noted.

“This Google-developed product expands access to the finest of Google Play Games to more laptops and desktops, and we’re happy to continue expanding our platform for gamers to enjoy their favorite Android games,” he added.

After playing their games on Google OS-based devices such as Android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks, the throngs of Google Play fans will soon be able to play them on their Windows laptops, desktops, and PCs.

Although a specific debut date has not been specified, the Google Play application is being built for Windows 10 and above.

On the other side, Microsoft, the creators of Windows for PC, was testing Android applications on Windows 11 PCs while continuing to develop an underlying Windows Subsystem for Android capable of running Android apps from a variety of sources.

The cooperation between Windows and Android may have certain disadvantages; one of them is that significantly fewer Android games and applications will be readily accessible for Windows 11 users to install than would be the case otherwise. As a result, Google, BlueStacks, and others now have a chance.

However, Microsoft’s collaboration with Amazon enables Windows users to download games and programs via the Amazon Appstore.

BlueStacks has long enabled players to play games on web browsers through its BlueStacks X feature, with the cloud gaming service allowing free cross-platform streaming of Android mobile games.

While we anticipate the year 2022, it is anticipated that the wait will be worthwhile.
