After mistakenly deleting the account of an artist going by the name of @metaverse for a month, Instagram has issued an apology. The corporation claims that it committed a clerical error.

Thea-Mai Baumann, an Australian technologist, and artist were informed on November 2 that she had been “banned for trying to be someone else,” according to the New York Times, which broke the story first.

It had only been five days since Instagram’s parent company, Facebook, had changed its name to Meta.

Instagram, on the other hand, refused to inform the New York Times whether the problem was related to the rebranding.
