One of Alibaba Cloud’s engineers found a security flaw in the Log4shell software. The Chinese government has stopped working with the company.

People who work for state-run Chinese media say that the company did not report Log4shell to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in time.

The company first told the foundation that was in charge of the bad code.

Alibaba Cloud has not yet said anything about the suspension.

In China, the company is part of the Alibaba Group, which is a huge tech company.

Log4Shell is the name of a security flaw in the widely used Log4j software. The open-source software is run by the Apache Software Foundation, which is in charge of the open-source software.

Millions of computers that run online services use Log4j to log or record events, and security experts have called the flaw one of the worst they’ve found in the last 10 years.

First, Alibaba reported the security hole to the Apache Software Foundation so they could fix it, but state-backed Chinese media says that Alibaba was shut down because it didn’t report quickly enough.

China Daily said that unnamed sources told the paper that the company didn’t do enough to help the government deal with cyber-security threats and vulnerabilities.
